Enduring LOVE

Monday, February 13th, 2012

We’ve all heard the “love is patient, love is kind” poem. Did you know it is a bible verse?

The saying comes from 1 Corinthians 13: 4-7. Paul, one of Christ’s disciples, recognized that the people of Corinth needed guidance on what love really was… A kind of unselfish behavior that expects and wants absolutely nothing in return. Here are his words from approximately 55 A.D. …

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”                     Rebecca Lynch

“What is desirable in a man is his kindness.” (Proverbs 19:22)

With all of our many differences and all of our many similarities, one thing is certain, my love for you will never fail and it will always endure, because you are selfless and kind.      Rebecca Lynch

Selfless, Innocent but Ever Enduring Love

We all need someone to care for us. To say, “I’m with you no matter what.” “I’ve got your back.” “I will love you until the time ends.” “I will be with you through it all.” “I will love you beyond what you can imagine.” “I will love you like no one else does.” And, really, isn’t that all that matters?                       Rebecca Lynch

Sweet Life

Tuesday, February 7th, 2012

Sweet life. Sweet people. Sweet days. Sweet words. Sweet gestures. Do something special today for a friend or co-worker who has been especially helpful or kind. Leave a small bag of candy on their desk or on their porch with a note that says, “Thank you for being so sweet.” Or, “Make it a sweet day.” Or, “You were Mint to be here,” with mints as your candy.  Small, sweet gestures that become unexpected, but wonderful surprises, will make an ordinary day memorable, for both of you.       by Rebecca Lynch

The Gift of Greeting

Monday, February 6th, 2012

I am a fan of technology and credit much of my reputation as efficient to the conveniences of our modern day.  I appreciate email, Facebook  and every other plateform that’s connected to the great big www that reaches beyond our walls and connects me to places I’ll likely never truly ‘see’.

When it comes right down to it, though, email and electronic touches just don’t move me like the gift of a handwritten, personalized greeting.  The personal touch escapes the computer and defies email, even with the best of intentions.  Throw in a pretty card and there’s quite a powerhouse at your fingertips.

Being on the receiving end of a few words scripted on good old-fashioned paper elicits almost the same response as a treasured photo; it is savored, revisited, kept and treasured.  The knowledge that someone cared enough to complete the process of choosing a card, taking a few moments to write (hopefully legibly) a unique message (think about it….a card has no bcc option!), slip it in the envelope, address and stamp it and then deliver it to the post office is really quite a commitment when everyone has a keyboard so close and easy to use.

Thanks for visiting!  See you tomorrow.

Smooches

Sunday, February 5th, 2012

I like noses. I like cheeks. I like foreheads. I like eyebrows. My favorite times of the day are both morning and night, when I get to visit all my favorite places all over again. I never age. I never worry. I am never sad. I am only able to give love, joy and happiness. Mommies use me a lot to calm or comfort, to nurture and teach, to live and love. Being me is a blessing. I am a kiss. Spread more joy – give extra kisses today.    by Rebecca Lynch
